“This is your life and it’s ending one minute at a time”

Guess which movie this is from?

Well, it’s Fight Club.

And yes, I know, the first rule of Fight Club is…to not talk about fight club.

But, we’ll acknowledge that first rule, then move on tonight to my point with this post, which is this.

I was asked recently why my work is so “intense.” That’s easy. It’s because of the quote of this post. Literally, our lives are ending one minute at a time.  Our time on this big dirt ball is finite. No one is going to live forever. (Except maybe Elon Musk, or some other eccentric bajillionaire who figures out how to live forever on the internet….but who would want to live there forever?)

I digress.

What I don’t understand is…why would anyone sign up to do half a job? Why not either say NO and move on, or say YES, or @#$% YES,  and give it 150%? Why are you doing it if you only want to do something kinda, sorta, but don’t?

The bottom line: the clock is ticking. What are you doing about it? What are you doing to leave this Earth better than you found it? Why are you doing what you do, and most of all – are you doing what you were meant to be doing while you’re here?

The clock is ticking…
